Audio Book Saving My Assassin with Free EASY Reading!

This woman's life was sad and tragic but miraculous! After about half way through, when she is in law school, is when it becomes hard to put down. I have been looking her up since reading this book. Fascinating life. How thankful I am to have been born in the US and this was yet another reminder not to take my freedom for granted.What bugged me for the first half of the book was that we are never told why she is treated as she is. When she finally is with her wonderful Aunt, that she never tells this loving woman how terrible life is at home. How is it that they never brought Virginia on their visits to see her? How did Cassandra not go visit Virginia? And for a woman so focused on the truth, why on earth wouldn't she ask Cassandra about her parents, her past, why she looks like her and not her "mother". Why wouldn't she ask the man on the phone about her past? This seemed very much the opposite of what a woman who wants to be a lawyer, wants the truth to be held in high esteem, is curious about the world and yet does not seek answers for her own life and her own childhood misery. This part makes no sense to me at all and frustrated me a great deal.Once we got into her law practice I was more engaged in the story, and then only in the Q and A in the back do we get some of the story, which of course most readers were guessing was true, but still it bothered me that she never had that conversation with this woman who clearly adored her and would have likely told her the whole truth.In any case, I still recommend this book highly. What a testimony of courage and of God's hand on her life!
